A Few Facts

  • Data from Norse Express (SIS) is moving to myNKU (SAP) completely by the 2009/'10 academic year.
  • The Financial Accounting function in SAP (myNKU) is instrumental in paper saving. The total paper savings from monthly reports, budget transfer forms, purchase requisition forms and purchase order forms equal 312,000 sheets of paper (624 reams or 10.4 trees) per year.
  • Benefits enrollment online via SAP will save 18,000 sheets of paper (36 reams or .6 tree) and 64 hours labor per year.
  • The Human Resources department no longer physically distributes paychecks and direct deposits on payday. The Employee Self Service function in SAP has freed up two days of time spent sorting, enveloping and distributing checks/direct deposits. Estimated annual cost savings amount to $6,000.
  • ESS also eliminated the need for 100 plus personnel to travel across campus three times per month to pick up paychecks for their department employees. This alone saves an estimated $22,500 annually.
