Class Roster has changed on the Academic Advising Tab and in Business Warehouse
A important message from the BW team:
Changes have been made to the Academic Advising Tab Class Roster report also located in Business Warehouse.
Due to various concerns and issues with the current BW Class Roster, the BI team made a few changes and created a new report. The new query name has not changed, it is still called "Class Roster by Semester and Org Unit" and is published under CM Enrolled Student Reports role. The old report has been renamed to the "OBSOLETE Class Roster by Semester and Org Unit" report. Also, the Class Roster link on the Academic Advising tab has been updated to point to this new report.
The BI Team is aware that many users have saved their favorites off the old Class Roster BW report. Therefore, in order to make this transition as smooth as possible we kept the old class roster report available for a few weeks so that all the saved favorites are in workable condition.
However, faculty and advisors should be aware and are strongly encouraged to use the new Class Roster report as soon as possible to get the most correct information for their classes.
Within the next 3 weeks the old Class Roster BW report will be made unavailable. The implication of this move would cause all the favorites that are still pointing to the old BW Class Roster report to break. Unfortunately, this is a necessary change that has to be implemented to provide faculty/advisors with the most current information. Therefore, everybody is very strongly encouraged to start using the new Class Roster and re-creating favorites from the new report.
Suggested troubleshooting in your area
1. Before the old Class Roster is taken offline:
If a user calls and reports incorrect information being presented on the class roster, he/she should be advised to run the new class roster report if it is determined that the user is still using the old version of class roster or running it from the old favorite.
2. After the old Class Roster is taken offline:
If a user is getting errors when running their saved Class Roster report from the favorite, inform them of the change and ask them to run the new class roster report which they can later save as their favorite again (overwrite it).
