New kindle to be announced tomorrow (rumor mill)

It looks like Amazon will unveil a new version of its Kindle e-book reader tomorrow.  New features could be centered around a larger screen that is better suited for text books.  Further, it appears that Case Western Reserve University in Clevland will be using this new product for some freshman in the fall.  More details at the following link - http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124146996831184563.html .  The days for lugging the textbooks may have taken a step towards extinction.

iNKU is the new mobile application that is now available for free from the Apple application store.  It contains such features as a map of campus with GPS information, NKU Glossary, NKU trivia, etc.  Please give it a try and send any feedback to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Backups - Be Proactive

If you are like me, you realize that you should backup your data/files from you PC at least weekly so that if you system crashes you can recover your work up to a very recent point.  But, I am sure most of of you struggle with finding the time to do this just like I do.  Well, Seagate has announced a new personal storage/backup unit called replica. - http://www.seagate.com/replica/ .  It is supposed to be automatic and easy to use.  I did a quick review of this and it look interesting and promising so please check it out.  But in the mean time, please find a way to backup your data on a frequent basis so that you have your bases covered.  If you need any assistance with this, please send me an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. NKU releases first iphone app

In collaboration with the Office of Information Technology and the College of Informatics, NKU has submitted its first mobile application for students, faculty and staff.  It has been submitted to the Apple Application store and we are awaiting approval for this free application.  Once approved, NKU will be doing some PR around this initiative.  NKU is one of only a handful of universities that have released applications for mobile devices.
