Apple TV Expected to Get an Upgrade

Duke Students Begin Using iPad for Field Research
Students at the Duke Global Health Institute will begin distributing iPads for methodological field research for its graduate students next fall. Smartphones for the Classroom
Smartphones can do a little bit of everything and now they are becoming a part the college learning experience as well. With smartphones becoming more integrated into classrooms, students will be able to get easy access to course materials, record lectures and download digital textbooks.

Windows 8 to Function More Similar to Tablets
Windows 8 will integrate a feature called “Metro” which will not only function on tablets, but Windows 8 as well. While the application is expected to be useful and functional for desktop users, it will not be the mainstay that it is for Windows tablet users. Smart Classroom Replacements
There are changes on the horizon for some classrooms in the MEP building. New document cameras, system upgrades and Lecture Capture (audio only) are just a few of the modifications scheduled during the upcoming weeks. Support and training staff members in the ITSC and CITE are working closely together to provide instruction and guidance regarding the implementation of these upgrades.
